Good to know before you start.
A few things work a little differently here. None of them take long to adjust to.
- An HTTPS API, no SMTP relayIf your app sends over SMTP today, you’ll swap that for one API request. It’s usually a small change.
- No SDK to installThe API is plain JSON over HTTPS, so the HTTP client you already use works fine.
- One recipient per requestSend one request per person. An
Idempotency-Keykeeps retries from sending twice. - Simple template variablesTemplates fill in values like
{{first_name}}. Conditions and loops happen in your app. - HTML and text bodiesSend an HTML body, a plain-text body or both. Sending files? Link to them from the email.
- History starts freshMailroom records every message from your first send. Keep your old account for as long as you need its history.
